Cozy in the beer garden and the food is good and inexpensive

We arrived there yesterday after a 26km hike, the next train didn't leave until 3 / 4h later, we were thirsty and just wanted something to drink. At the entrance there was a sign "closed company", four children are playing on the terrace, the "innkeeper" was behind the counter, when we asked if we could get something there was a sullen answer "closed company", we just said something to drink in front on the terrace where four children were playing, and again a sullen "closed party". Then we sat down at the train station, thirsty. In my opinion, it would have been hospitable to sell us five bottles of beer and let us sit on the empty terrace. So the innkeeper, unfriendly fellow, rests in the Waldesruh. We are used to this differently in the Palatinate Forest. So my recommendation, avoid the forest rest!

We waited well over 1 hour, although only 3 tables were served before us. The rest of the food tasted mostly good, they praised the good taste of the food. I had expected more from my so-called salad plate with shrimp and seafood for over 14 euros. In fact, it was a slightly larger side salad with 2 small portions of coleslaw and carrot soup mixture and green salad. About 12 shrimp. There were no other seafood. Bread too. Only on request 2 slices of mixed bread. Had rather hoped for crispy baguette. And besides, the restaurant was not well heated. We were all frozen through after the long wait.

This accommodation was recommended to us by an inn nearby. There were no more rooms available. Normally this establishment doesn't even deserve a star. Upon arrival the room was so cold that I had turned the heating on for 5 hours to get a little warmer. At night the heating switches off, so you have to shiver warm In the room a youth bed (90x200mm), the mattress uncomfortable and the slatted frame gave up after three hours. There are flyers in the inn to advertise the establishment. Just like on this page. However, the pictures of the hotel cannot be compared with reality. Never again this hotel. That borders on bodily harm.

Helga and Klaus are perfect hosts for anyone who wants to spend time in the beautiful Rhineland region of Germany. The hotel is charming and modern. The food is great. Conveniently located to the train, transportation to and from the hotel is very easy. I highly recommend Gasthaus Waldesruh.

Stayed here for one night! My room was clean and well prepared. Breakfast was included. It was not very impressive but okay for the price I guess (bread, butter, cheese, ham, marmelade). I can recommend as there was nothing majorly bad!

A family business which is family-friendly but also family-run. Very good food. Regional cuisine but also fish and lamb dishes. The various Palatinate wines are highly recommended.

We were rerouted at this inn because our had a double occupancy. The lady wanted to charge us more money for the room than I had agreed in the other inn. She still asked for the single room more. An impudence !! to demand more for the tiny room just to get on top of their price. Not even a star.
